Over 30 autumn nail inspirations to start your fall aesthetic!

Here it is – the season of pumpkin spice lattes, beautiful colors everywhere and of course the perfect opportunity to change up our nail care routine.

Well, I am not a nail technician, but that does NOT stop me from experimenting with nail art and enjoying some amazing nail designs.

Seasonal developments? Yes, please.

Through experimenting with my own nails, I’ve put together a mix of styles that are typical for fall. They’re all my babies, but I’ve managed to pick my absolute favorite fall nail ideas to inspire you.

Trendy brown marble nails

Made of mixed browns and creamy swirls, these nails are reminiscent of a hot mocha on a chilly day. Marble nails are all the rage right now, and for good reason! To achieve this swirling beauty at home, use a fine brush to blend your browns and nudes on a wet base coat. The best part is that there are no mistakes—just happy little accidents!

Orange aura nails with green chrome finish

Orange, are you glad I included these? Aura nails have taken the nail world by storm. All you need is some eyeshadow and you’ve got a unique and fashionable creation on your nails! With a sweet green chrome finish, these nails scream a trendy fall aesthetic with a twist. This design is all about that contrast – the warmth of orange and the coolness of green work perfectly together. Achieving this look may require a few extra steps, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Matte black nails with shiny tips

We give the classic French tip a dark twist, perfect for the longer fall nights. The matte black gives a velvety finish, while the glossy tips add just the right amount of shine and creativity. The best part? Super easy to achieve. Matte top coat over black polish and a touch of glossy top coat on the tips. Spooky, chic and totally on trend.

Schildpatt-Nägel

Channel your inner basic goddess with these tortoiseshell nails. Another great nail design for fall! They have just the right amount of retro to make your nail design gorgeous. Mimic the look by applying layers of translucent amber gel polish and adding flecks of brown polish before curing the first coat. Repeat once or twice until you’re happy with the look of your dark “tortoiseshell” flecks.

Brown and pink nails with heart accents

Who says hearts are just for Valentine’s Day? These nails mix soft pink with rich fall brown and feature extra cute heart accents (just to make it fun). To recreate this, use a dotting tool to draw two small circles next to each other, then turn them into hearts with the help of a nail art brush. I’m totally in love with these nails!

Matte brown skittle nails with shiny swirls

Mixing textures is all the rage, and these coffin-shaped matte brown skittle nails with glossy swirls are no exception. The mix of matte and glossy is fun to look at as well as to touch! The glossy swirls can be applied freehand with a glossy top coat over the matte top coat for a subtle but impactful contrast.

Pumpkin and autumn leaf nails

Anything with pumpkins, please! These nails are a real homage to autumn: pumpkins and colorful leaves create a pretty autumn picture. Grab your gel nail polishes and a few seasonal nail stickers and let your creativity run wild. A little creativity and love for the season is all you need.

Checkered nail art

The classic fall pattern, plaid, isn’t just for scarves. It’s for nails too! The key to making this design a success (pun intended) is patience and precision. Use the longest nail art brush you can get to create clean lines and dry brush each line individually. Alternate fall colors to create that cozy sweater effect.

Dark green color with animal print

I find that dark colors suit this time of year. Show off your dark (and wild) side with this deep green and animal print combo. The subtle animal print accent adds a touch of elegance to the color of the pines. Use a fine brush to decorate the spots with black nail polish. It couldn’t be easier – the spots can all be slightly different, so don’t worry about messing anything up!

Purple autumn flower nails

It doesn’t always have to be dark – here is a little floral autumn fantasy, with slightly muted colors and flower motifs. With a steady hand and a mix of light and dark purple tones, you can bring some feminine energy into the cooler autumn months.

Green almond nails

I just love how emerald green looks on nails! These nails give off a classic, chic vibe and are perfect for anyone who appreciates a bit of color but still wants to stay elegant. To achieve this look, choose almond-shaped nail tips and a deep green polish. For accent nails, use a nude base color and then use a nail art brush to paint the green lines and a French tip effect.

Ombre brown nail design with chrome finish

These are probably my favorites! The ombre trend lives on. This nail set goes from a nude color at the base to a milky chocolate tone at the tips. The chrome finish gives it that extra something, you know? This ombre look can be achieved using a sponge technique by dabbing the polish until you get a seamless gradient effect.

Olive green nail color

Ah, the subtle yet trendy olive green! This nail color is a must for your autumn look – versatile and in full swing. Applying the color in a single color is child’s play, but the result is anything but plain. It’s the color that somehow goes with everything in autumn!

Colour combination of matte blue and peach

Who says half and half doesn’t work on nails? This matte blue paired with a soft peach color creates mixed vibes in the best way! Achieve this by applying a matte top coat over your favorite cool and warm shades. Perfect if you can’t decide between two colors!

The PERFECT nail color in burnt orange

The quintessential fall color, burnt orange, has never looked better. It’s probably THE perfect nail color for fall. This bold color looks amazing on any nail shape and adds a touch of fall to any outfit.

Grey blue and white ombre nails

Turn a misty fall morning into nail art. The gray-blue fades into a soft white, creating a smoky effect that’s perfect for sweater weather. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it! The ombre technique is all about that blending, so don’t rush the sponge work.

Rote Herbstnägel

Classic red gets an autumnal makeover with this deep shade and a little animal print accent. It’s the color of apples in the orchard ready to be picked. This particularly sophisticated look is easy to achieve. It will look great in the office or at a dinner party.

White leaves on green nails

It’s like a walk in the woods with these nature-inspired beauties. The hand-painted white leaves on a soft forest green base create a stunning and very Instagrammable look! Take a thin brush and a dotting tool to paint these delicate leaves. If you’re not so confident with the brush, make sure to cure the nail between each leaf so you can “save” your work before moving on to the next part of the nail.

Orange leopard print nail design

Wild and fabulous, this orange leopard print look is perfect for fall. The bright orange matches pumpkins and foliage, while the speckled dots of the leopard print add playfulness. Use a dotting tool to make the dots and don’t worry about perfection – the beauty is in the irregularity.

Royal blue nails

Who says fall is all about warm tones? This royal blue is a breath of fresh, crisp air. It’s like the October sky on a clear day. Be bold with this bold color and let your nails do the talking.

Naked coffin nails

Elegance meets simplicity with these nude coffin nails. They’re fantastic if you’re going for a sleek, understated and feminine look. The key is getting the nude shade right – opt for something with greyish and brownish undertones to really bring out the mood of the season.

Black cat eye nails

These black cat-eye nails add beautiful drama. The shimmering effect creates the illusion of depth and mystery. A magnet is your secret weapon here, drawing the metal particles into this mesmerizing cat-eye pattern. Another beautiful dark look for this fall!

Black + animal print

Wild and daring: These nails combine the timelessness of black with – yes, you guessed it – animal print. I can’t help it, animal print is just… cool. Perfect for that cool fall outfit or just because you’re feeling wild. Recreate this by painting your nails black and adding animal print to one or two accent nails.

Burnt orange nails with flowers

Burnt orange is something of a poster child for fall colors, and these nails will show you why. Decorated with delicate flowers, they’re simple but sweet and definitely fall-ready. You just need a dotting tool to dab on the flowers and achieve that hand-painted, artisanal look.

Color combination of black and gold

Nothing screams luxury like black and gold, right? This combination is elegant, sophisticated and totally autumnal. Apply a matte black base and add the gold details with a nail stamping kit for that extra touch of glamour.

Long square plum nails

Plum, please! These square nails are all about the rich autumn feeling. A plum-colored nail polish and a glossy top coat are made for each other. Achieve this beautiful look with a few coats of your favorite plum gel polish and your favorite top coat.

Short Skittle nails with autumn motif

Autumn in every finger, literally. Each nail is a different shade of autumn, it’s like Thanksgiving on your fingertips. The matte finish gives it a modern twist. This works on both long and short nails. Have fun picking out the colors.

Autumnal chrome nails

These fall chrome nails are all about the high shine finish. The rose gold color is a great choice for fall and making it metallic makes it even prettier. The chrome effect is achieved using a special powder that is rubbed onto a gel base and is so much fun to apply!

Black abstract nail art

For those who love a good mystery, these black abstract nails are just the thing. Abstract patterns meet Halloween night with this set. To achieve this simple abstract look, let your imagination run wild and create some sharp edges/lines as well as a little impromptu speckled pattern.

Muted tones and contrast

Sometimes it’s all about understated elegance, right? These nails mix muted tones with a bold contrast nail for a look that’s not too complicated but still speaks volumes. The perfect accessory for those chunky knit sweaters and scarves.

Shiny black with glitter accent

Classic black gets a glitter enhancement! These glossy black nails are sleek, seductive, and a little bit mysterious. But it’s the glitter accent nails that really turn heads and add a touch of pizzazz and event to an otherwise plain look. For this glittery nail, either dip it in your glitter dip pot or apply a coat of glitter gel polish, then seal with a top coat for lasting shine.

Nude and brown color combination

Nude and brown are the feel-good colors of nail colors – calming, warm and always a good idea. This color combination is versatile and flatters all skin tones. Combine with a glossy top coat on almond-shaped nails to enhance the warmth of these delicious shades.
